Marking stations

By nature sawn timber has got bad spots such as knotholes, cracks, rough edges, resin pockets etc. In order to ensure the quality of the later construction timber, these spots have to be cut out of the board.

The marking stations allow the operator to evaluate the quality of a board. Bad spots are marked and then they are automatically cut out in the downstream production process by means of a cut-off saw.

Depending on the required capacity, marking stations are available with different automations. If several marking places are required, there are different possibilities to integrate them into a total layout.

Examples:

  • Marking place with crosswise feeding, roller flaps and direct transport
  • opposite twin marking place with crosswise feeding and buffer in the feeding and discharge section
  • parallel marking tables for board evaluation in lengthwise workflow
